Duc Thang Guest House (Nhà Nghỉ Đức Thắng)

The lovely woman who runs this guesthouse might just be the hardest working woman in all of Vietnam. She does everything she can to help each and every one of her guests, from arrange buses, motorbike rentals, connecting you to trekking tours and even helping with currency exchange. She and her husband also own the restaurant right beside the guesthouse and will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for you if you like. All the food freshly made and is a good as any in Dien Bien Phu. As for the guesthouse, it's more like a budget hotel but quite sufficient and clean. If you choose to eat at their restaurant it will feel more like an extension of the guesthouse. Lovely place and people.

Location is great because the bus from Hanoi can leave you just 2 minute walking from the hostel and the bus to Dien Bien Phu will come pick you up literally in front of the hostel. In case you are crossing to Laos, don't buy the Dien Bien Phu-Muang Khua tickets from 12asia or other websites, they will charge you a lot. Buy the tickets directly from the hostel. Price was very good for what it offers. They also run the restaurant down in the street, where they cook very nice food at a good price also. Walking into town is not too far from here.

We only been there for 1 night. Initially we booked 2 nights but we changed our plans, so we went with night bus to hanoi and not with the day bus to sa pa. It wasn't a big deal to reduce one night, what we really appreciated. The lady who runs this accommodation is kind and booked us a bus to hanoi, sure it's a bit more expensive than if your booking on your own, but for us it was ok. She also has a small restaurant next to the accommodation. We have eaten there, but it looked good.

Comfortable accommodation, with restaurant next door. The host also helped me book bus to sapa and simcard. Very helpful and convenient. Everything I needed it. Thank you so much..

Nice room, comfortable bed, good hot shower, The lady was very sweet and helped us so much with the SIM card, the bus tickets, the taxi They also run a small restaurant next door with yummi food!
